Disease resistant varieties offer reliable and high yields:
Both our Syngenta and Zeraim Gedera genetics for round standard tomatoes offer varieties with high disease resistance packages e.g. resistance to TYLCV and/or TSWV irrespective of the crop being in open fields or under protection. In addition these varieties offer high quality yields and the Syngenta indeterminate hold its fruit size to the top-end trusses.
Deciding what squash variety to include in your season’s planting is influenced by its flexibility to be sold in local and/or export markets. Syngenta’s varieties offer a producer peace of mind as the quality grade is accepted for both local and export markets and they offer retailers a long shelf life. In addition our varieties have a very strong disease resistance package that includes resistance to powdery mildew.

Integrated crop protection solutions for vegetables:
Our Syngenta crop protection range is well tested and Actara is registered on tomatoes, brassicas, cucurbits and capsicums for the control of various sucking pests such as whitefly, aphids and thrips.
To avoid insect resistance development, Syngenta strives to register different modes of actions, giving the producer more than one chemical to control potential resistant pests. Therefore Chess is also registered for the control of aphids on brassicas and tomatoes. And Pegasus against whitefly and RSM on tomatoes, alternatively Aphox can also be used on brassicas against aphids.
One of our constantly reliable products is Karate, with a broad registration on peas, sweet corn, tomatoes and brassicas.
A new improved formulation will also be on the market in the near future.
To address leafminers, one of the most abundant and serious pests the company offers Agrimec and Patron, two well known and effective insecticides. Proclaim is regarded as one of the most effective lepidopteracides on tomatoes, supported by Sorba well known for not only Lepidoptera but also thrips on crops including brassicas, capsicums and tomatoes.
On the fungicide side our AZ formulations such as Amistar and mixtures with AZ e.g. Amistar Top are registers on sweetcorn, tomatoes, brassica, cucurbits, capsicums, onions and carrots.
To control serious pests such as white blister on brassicas, GLS, NBL and cercospora on sweet corn, early and late blight on tomatoes, powdery mildew on capsicum and cucurbits, Alternaria and stemphylium on onions and Alternaria on carrots.
Not only are the plants protected in the later stage by Syngenta also strives to protect the seedlings from early in the plant’s growing cycle against seedling disease such as pythiumrhizoctonia and susarium with products such as Apron XL and Celest on peas, tomatoes, lettuce and broccoli. The only EU Annex I listed chlorotalonil also belongs to the Syngenta portfolio and is the only non carcinogenic registered chlorotalonil. Bravo has a wide registration range on crops such as tomatoes, cucurbits, beans, peas and brassica against rusts, Ascochyla, Cercospora, Bortytis, white blister, downy mildew, early and late blight etc. to name a few.
For the control of bacteria such as spec and spot on tomatoes Bion, a plant activator, is the logical choice.
Ridomil, available as Ridomil Gold Flo or Ridomil Gold Pepite formulations, needs no introduction and is an excellent choice to control Septoria, early and late blight on tomatoes and white blister on cabbage.
Another choice is Score as an early blight product on tomatoes and GLS or NLB on sweetcorn. Topaz holds registrations on peas, mange touts, patty pans, cucurbits and the capsicum group and controls powdery mildews.
On the organic product range, Thiovet Jet is a high quality sulphur product with fungicidal and miticidal control including RSM and thrips on beans, rust and Erinose mites on tomatoes and powdery mildew on peas, patty pans, larger pumpkins, cucurbits and capsicums.
To complete the range, Tecto is a disinfectant for cold stores and fruits such as melons.
