Syngenta Squash Information Day.
Syngenta introduced its two new squash varieties, Milos and Sylos to the market during an information day held near Nelspruit on 19 March 2013.
Guests of the Syngenta Squash Information Day met in-field on Evan Robson's farm to view and discuss cultivation at its best whilst looking at the vast Syngenta Squash variety range namely: Afrodite, Aristotle, Athos, Mikonos, Naxos, Quine, Raven, Starship, Sunburst, Velvia and the new Milos and Sylos varieties.
After their luncheon at the Citrus and Subtropical Research Institute Barry Erasmus (Syngenta) introduced the group to the beneficial production features of the Milos and Sylos varieties.
As part of an integrated crop solution initiative Desiree van Heerden (Syngenta) advised the group about the 6 viral diseases that are transmitted by insects onto squashes and how you can identify which one it is.
Accredited Syngenta dealers, Lowveld Agrochem and Crowne Seeds were also participants during the day.
