Description generated with very high confidenceNico Wagner was announced as the Syngenta National Potato Farmer of the Year at the evening function of Potatoes SA's Congress on 28 September 2017. He and his wife Manlie, farm on 6,300 hectares under potatoes, sweet corn, cattle and wildlife on Wilnick near Tolwe in Limpopo. The farm was established on a mere 89 ha when Nico's father, Willem Wagner, bought his first land in 1980. From the outset, productivity and integrity were a given. This philosophy of Willem lives on in the second generation of this family farm under the leadership of Nico Wagner.

Nico places a very high value on product quality which has a guarantee of satisfaction on every bag. Farming success is due to intense risk management, trained and purposeful staff who do things exceptionally well. Nico ascribes the success of Wilnick to much faith and mercy.
